Are you running your filter long enough each day?

Have the filter running when you can monitor it. Set the timers so your filter/pump is running say between 4 to 8pm - the time your out the back feeding the dog, so you will notice if it's not running. You don’t want to wait until the pool starts to go green before you notice your pump is switched off - which sometimes can be days or even weeks later!
You need at least 8 hours a day filtration
Your pump is normally controlled (turned on / off) by the chlorinator - this is where you will find the timer settings.
8 hours a day will give you at least two turnovers of your pool water a day. Generally the minimum needed to keep your pool water clean and clear.
Luckily this is an easy fix - adjust your timers. 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon or early evening is a good mix.
Try and have the filter running during a period where you are near your pool so you will notice if something is not right and it’s not running.
If you have solar you want it running through the peak sunny times - 10am - 6pm summertime. This obviously means you have solar power contributing when you have your pools equipment on.
